Monday:
Good day today. I hope all of you had a great weekend. I had one heck of a weekend
Today we will be taking our quiz on Unit 1.1B: Earth's History. Please take fifteen minutes to study up and ask me any questions you may have.
After the quiz, you will critique one other essay written by one of your peers. I will grade all essays, but you will be working together to make each other more talented writers. I have shared a link with you for the essay critique, the link is also below. FRQ Crit
For your homework, you need to start reading the next chapter about the Earth's Atmosphere. Pretty cool how this topic just bled right in from the last part of the last chapter. For this reading please take notes at home, they can be outline form notes of your personal preference. You can download the chapter below. Have the first five sections outlined at the start of Wednesday.
Or, here is the website with our online book as well. Habitable Planet
Wednesday:
Hello to all. I hope you are having a wonderful day. We are going to start off by completing the R-2 student data sheet. Please use the link below and fill out the form. Be sure to show me you are completed before closing any tabs or windows. If you have questions please ask me, no guessing. R-2 Student Data Sheet
I am very sorry but I have not yet graded your essays or tests. I promise I will pass them back on Friday. I was busy building a table yesterday. But, we have some really cool stuff to do today anyway. We are going to attempt to keep up with current events starting with the disaster that happened in Colorado this past week.
Here is the game plan. You are all members of a news station and you will be putting together and giving a newscast. You will be divided into groups, select topics and then create and deliver a news brief about what has happened in Colorado. You will be using a shared Google Preso to document and present your work. For your newscast, pictures tell the story. All slides will be wordless or have only a few stats to help with you reporting the news. Yo will need to post your script as the last slide, it is like publishing the news in a newspaper instead of delivering it live. The shared preso is below. Please select your topics and get to work. We will be presenting in twenty-five minutes. Flash Flooding in Colorado
For your homework, please continue reading and finish outlining (taking notes) on the rest of the chapter. Your notes will be graded on Friday.
While you read I want you to share some of your findings with the group. Be sure to fill out the shared document below before class on Friday. It is okay if some of the information doubles up, that will likely happen. Unit 1.2 Earth's Atmosphere Questions and Findings
Friday:
Hello and good day to all. I hope you are having a wonderful week and are excited about the coming weekend. Be sure to get out and do something fun this weekend.
Today we have several things to accomplish. Let's start off by taking out your notes so I can check them off.
Now we will continue and finish up with our newscast about the flooding in Colorado.
And finally, I have your tests and FRQ's to pass back to you. So, take a moment to look over those and then I want each of you share the comments made on your essays. Giving everyone the most feedback possible will hopefully help you to become better writers. With your essays, you will need to retype them with the corrections and comments provided. They will be due Tuesday at the beginning of class. Be sure to put all of your changes and corrections in red color font so I can easily see you made the necessary changes.
As for your homework over the weekend, you will all contribute to the shared preso and help build the study slides that outline the chapter. Make your section between 4 and 7 slides long. Be sure to use pics, charts, etc. If you want to use Keynote that is fine, but please post your slides to the shared preso instead of keeping them for yourself. We will be presenting your findings in class starting Tuesday.
Who ever picks the Key Terms section will also have to put the key terms into Quizzlet as well and then share the link with me. Everyone will use the digital flashcards to study from. Whoever is doing this section please talk to me during the period.
